Empty m3u files

Post by porcelain » Tue Jul 09, 2019 8:26 am

Hi,

i have m3u files stored on my QNAP NAS. The link in the m3u to the respective mp3 file looks as follows:
\\NASNAME\multimedia\music\music\ARTIST\song.mp3

The path \\NASNAME\multimedia\music\music is deposited as a network share in the bluos app. WhenI import the m3u and open them, there are empty. No songs are be shown in the m3u file. When i search for a song that is included in the m3u file through my libary i could play the song without problems.

So my question is: why i have empty m3u files?

I think its because you are connected to a share called music rather than the full path. I don't use m3u files but log a support call and Bluesound will point you in the right direction.

How did you make the m3u playlist? I use "Quod Libet" on my Linux machine,(also available for windows). The procedure is relatively simple, load your music files in QL, select tracks and attach them to a playlist, export playlist and store on your share, in the "music" folder. My m3u looks like this:(could not make an attachment, refused file?)

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:219,Anarchic System - Popcorn
a/Anarchic System - Popcorn.flac
#EXTINF:213,Aretha Franklin - I Say A Little Prayer
a/Aretha Franklin - I Say A Little Prayer.flac
#EXTINF:126,Animals - Roberta
a/Animals - Roberta.flac
#EXTINF:337,Amboy Dukes - Baby Please Don't Go
a/Amboy Dukes - Baby Please Don't Go.flac
#EXTINF:119,5.6.7.8's - Woo Hoo
a/5.6.7.8's - Woo Hoo.flac
#EXTINF:138,Al Caiola - Bonanza
a/Al Caiola - Bonanza.flac

"a/" is the file that contains the track on the share smb://b-box%203/hitachi_hts545032b9a300_1_50ae/music (obviously samba)

Hope this is helpful.
