BlueSound not compatible with Ubiquiti?

Post by Joske007 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 1:03 pm

After several attempts, I do not succeed to connect the Bluesound Flex with the Wifi-network.

Setup with wired network
the Asus RT-N66U router is on 2.4Ghz en 5Ghz out.
the Asus router is set on HDCP ON
The Asus router has all mobile and all fixed devices have gotten an fixed ip-adress.

Setup wifi
Ubiquiti Unifi Cloud Key =>controller says HDCP off.
3x Ubiquiti AC-AP Pro
2.4 Ghz swiched between 20 HT and 40 HT
5 Ghz off, for now.
remote of BluOS with iPhone’s and iPad.

1) Steps that were taken:
The bluesound was reset multiple times
App BluOS and tablet were restarted.
Asus router was restarted.
in the Asus router : IGMP Snooping + IGMP Proxy turned on
Ubiquiti App restarted.
Ubiquiti controller : IGMP Proxy turned on
Ubiquiti App : different firmware

2) Steps that were taken

When I took the steps true the App to add an ‘new player’ and then continue in hotspot-mode, I repeatedly get the message that no player is found.
** But when I do the test, WIFI on the Asus router and on the Ubiquiti AC- AP and turn off WIFI…. the player is suddenly found?!

As you can see the SSID of the Ubiquiti AC-AP is seen on the Bluesound App. Unfortunate the procedure and full integration of the Bluesound in the network is not completed and gives the following message :

Procedure 1 : installing the Bluesound Pulse Flex.

Procedure 2 : installing the Bluesound Pulse Flex.

Open the Player Drawer by pressing the House icon in the top right corner of the App
Scroll to the bottom and select Add a Player to launch the Easy Setup Wizard.
As illustrated press the Home button on iPhone or iPad and open the iOS Settings App to select WiFi
Select your Player's Hotspot* from the available WiFi networks
Return to the BluOS App
Select your Home WiFi Network from the Connect to WiFi drop down menu.  If your Home WiFi Network does not appear or is hidden, select Manual SSID Entry.  Enter the Wireless SSID and select the Protection type your network uses.
Enter your home network’s WiFi Password in the field provided and press Continue.
Enter the Name of the Room for this Player when locating it in the Player Drawer.
Wait for the screen to say All Done and the Player’s LED to turn Blue and select Finish.

Also after installing through procedure 2, the Bluesound stays in the Hotspot-mode.
Also this : the data 2G rate controller standart comes to Legacy.

On-Off of the IGMP has also not worked. :(

Unfortunatly, changing the network name and password, to simple characters did also not help.
A network name without use of a password, did not help.

Pffff, all very frustrating
Anyone here, who can help me out :?: :?:

Update!
After a clean install, I started again with the same settings.
That was apparently the trick to get the WiFi proper working.
Probably there was already something wrong from the beginning whyle installing.
Finaly the Bluesound Flex is playing music :)

Can only contribute: 4 controllers and two players works wonders on a Unify WiFi setup with two access points. No special settings, except that I have asked the APs to use 801.11ac when possible.

Highly stable - no disruptions - just works.
