I have three Asus RT-AC68U, one is the main router and two serves as access points.
To get better WiFi signal to the two non-wired players (the Pulse Mini and the Power Node), I added an Asus RP-N12 Media Brigde to each of them.
The bridges are locked to the the nearest router, so they don't switch to another one with lower strength (could happen if the nearest router reboots for example).
There seems to be a known issue with Asus and Multicast, especially if more units are connected together (like my router and the access points).
Here are the settings I changed, which made all the difference:
Router:
LAN -> IPTV: Enable multicast routing (IGMP Proxy) : Enabled
LAN -> IPTV: Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping): Enabled
Wireless -> Professional -> Band 2.4GHz -> Enable IGMP Snooping: Enabled
Wireless -> Professional -> Band 2.4GHz -> Multicast Rate(Mbps): OFDM 12
Access Points:
Wireless -> Professional -> Band 2.4GHz -> Enable IGMP Snooping: Enabled
Wireless -> Professional -> Band 2.4GHz -> Multicast Rate((Mbps): OFDM 12
It's copied straight from this post:

Thanks for the help. I had missed a couple of the settings - hope it will work better now

Seems like the suggested settings might have done the trick. My system has been running fine for more than a week now
Thanks for the help

Dear BLS team, will you document this for future support cases?

Good suggestion since the Asus-routers are very popular - at least here in Sweden
Btw, my setup was bit simpler since it only involved one router and three wireless connected Bluesound devices (and of course my wired Synology NAS)

Hi Krihad
We will do our best to get this on the main site but our guys at the BSC are aware of this thread and here is hoping that by the time we have it posted on our official support site ASUS has resolved their issue on their firmware.

That is of course an even better solution

Hi all,
I own the Powernode 2 for about a week now and i am still in the process of tuning my local network. The Powernode 2 is wired to my ASUS RT-N66U. From the beginning i noticed a lot of playback hiccups and i wondered what caused this.
- First i assigned a static IP address to the device --> not the solution, removed static IP address
- Second i started enabling QOS and tried to tune it--> took me a lot of time and there were definitely less hiccups
- Third i came across this post, i disabled QOS and enabled the two IGMP settings in the ASUS router.
I hope this will finally end the audio hiccups.
Regards,
Alexander
