Home theater group with M10

Post by Andredewaard » Tue Jan 08, 2019 11:33 am

Here you can see how to create an Home theater group:

Is it possible to do the same but instead of the soundbar i want to use the newly announced NAD M10 with HiFi speakers in the front and use the pulse flex for rears only when watching movies? And does this work with surround sound?

Hi Andredewaard

The NAD M10 is not available for Home Theatre Grouping.

Home Theatre Grouping is only available with a PULSE SOUNDBAR (2i) and PULSE FLEXES (2i)

What makes the soundbar different from the NAD M10 that makes it work for home theatre grouping?
So no future update will allow this on the NAD aswel?

I guess it's related to the processor; 2 channel stereo (M10) vs 4 channel surround (Pulse Soundbar).

...for now.

How's that? Kidding aside, frequent readers of this site will know we are looking at options to increase HTG to other models in the future, we have just been busy with other things (like helping the guys down the hall put our secret sauce into the M10 and C658... and still bring AP2/Siri and Alexa voice control options into the fold).

A okay, that sounds better. I’m really digging the new m10 and think of buying it. Or maybe the c368 with mdc module. I see the new mdc module is on its way.

Aside from the power differences the M10 has the new 32-BIT/384kHz ESS Sabre DAC. Shame it only has one set of speaker terminals.

Is there really much of a difference between 32 and 24 bit? And where can I found source files for that? If I will use mainly tidal and some downloaded flac files.

You won't find much 32-bit content, all of the typical companies releasing high res will be 24-bit.
