Re: NAS connection to NODE2i

I tend to recommend WD NAS devices to friends and family as they are reliable and can be bought refurbished direct from WD at a good prce. This is the English UK store for the “My Cloud” https://www.wd.com/en-gb/products/wd-recertified/my-cloud.html#RWDBCTL0020HWT-EESN Do also think about how you ar...

Re: New power cord

Save your money, power cords can make a very subtle difference but in my opinion not worthwhile. The fig 8 lead is standard (no earth) and called a C7.

I bought a bunch of white ones in the UK from an electrical retailer to match my white players. A 5 meter one was less than £3 and work perfectly.

Re: NAS connection to NODE2i

Yes... you connect a NAS to your router, not directly to a Bluesound product. Copying ripped CD’s or downloaded music to the NAS. You point the Node 2i to connect to the NAS and it will index the music. The USB port on your Node is really only intended for small amounts of music on a USB memory stic...

Re: Bluesound can't handle mesh points?

I have 3 wired Google WiFi mesh points if anyone needs help. Every so often I'll have a blip on the app when my phone changes to a new endpoint but no issues at all with streaming. What happens in the apps when the phone switches to another access point please? Leaning towards the Google wifi now a...

Re: NODE2i and namn change

Yes RJ11 is for telephone use, on phones and modems. Shielded is good for a noisy (RF) environment, such as a large server room with multiple servers and switches or where there is radio transmitting equipment. Or if the cables have to be run parallel to mains cables. Shielded is just harder to term...

Re: NODE2i and namn change

Solid cable is for installation, long runs in ducts, trunking etc and terminated at a patch panel (sockets)

Stranded is what you need, Cat 5e, flexible, longer life, terminated in RJ45 plugs. Not great for long runs due to the woven nature which means less signal.

Re: music stopping

Hi,

Very odd, not too close to anything that might cause interference?

If not already done so the best thing to do is log a support call from within the Bluesound app.
